Tourism and hospitality businesses in Ireland can host a placement if they can provide supervision, a safe workplace and suitable tasks for the student.
Placements usually run over five or 10 days. They can take place over one week, two weeks or 10 weeks, depending on the student, school and workplace.
You should provide a structured placement, assign a manager or mentor, give the student a clear induction and complete the Employer Reports at the end of the placement.
No. Work experience placements are part of the school curriculum and are unpaid. Students are covered by their school insurance.
