A five-year plan to strengthen visitor experiences, elevate the Inishowen Peninsula’s story, and build its appeal on the Wild Atlantic Way.

These are the projects driving progress on the Inishowen Peninsula Destination and Experience Development Plan. Projects include maritime and military heritage, sustainable coastal tourism, and walking and cycling routes across the border.

Restoration works, new access routes, and improved viewpoints will bring Fort Dunree’s coastal military heritage to life as a world-class visitor attraction.

Malin Head is Ireland’s most northerly point. Plans focus on better visitor management, improved facilities, and protecting the natural heritage of this location.

Connecting walking and cycling routes across the Inishowen Peninsula, linking the Wild Atlantic Way with Derry to open new ‘slow tourism’ experiences.
